Powerhouse Hobbs is officially no longer All Elite—and all signs point to WWE as his next destination.

Following the January 17 episode of AEW Collision, Hobbs was quietly removed from AEW’s official roster page, confirming what many had already suspected: his time with the company has come to an end. The episode, which featured Hobbs’ final match—a Trios Title defense alongside Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata—was taped on January 14, just one day before his contract expired at midnight on January 15.

The title match saw Hobbs and The Opps lose the AEW World Trios Championships to Hangman Page and JetSpeed (Kevin Knight & “Speedball” Mike Bailey), ending their 264-day reign. Hobbs took the fall via a sunset flip from Knight, likely as a way to close the book on his AEW run.

As previously reported, Hobbs’ contract expiration and he is expected to sign with WWE—if he hasn’t already. WWE’s interest in Hobbs reportedly dates back years, and according to Wrestling Observer Radio, Hobbs turned down a recent AEW contract offer in favor of pursuing the next chapter with WWE.

“WWE had expected that they had Hobbs for actually quite a while… AEW made an offer. He turned down the AEW offer, wanted to go to WWE,” Dave Meltzer noted.

Hobbs originally signed with AEW in 2020 and quickly rose through the ranks, eventually capturing the AEW TNT Championship during his run. Despite his undeniable presence, his push often felt inconsistent—something WWE may look to capitalize on if and when he debuts.

There’s no official word yet on when Hobbs might appear on WWE programming, but with his AEW obligations now completely done, the path is clear.
