One of AEW’s originals has been taking on a whole new role behind the scenes this year — and fans may not have even realized it.

Angelico, who joined AEW in 2019 as part of The Hybrid2 with Jack Evans, hasn’t been a regular fixture on Dynamite in recent years but has kept his spot in the company. According to Fightful Select, he’s also been working behind the curtain as a coach and producer for most of 2025.

The report noted that his exact start date in the role is unclear, but his latest work included producing the Megan Bayne vs. Emily Rose match on Collision this past week.

“He actually has been working as a coach and producer virtually all year,” the report stated, adding that his work backstage hasn’t stopped him from continuing as an in-ring competitor.

While working as a producer, Angelico has remained a regular presence on ROH TV, often teaming with Serpentico — who himself has been a producer and agent for years. Angelico also recently paired up with AR Fox on Collision in a losing effort against Kip Sabian and Nick Wayne.

Angelico might not be front-and-center on AEW TV every week, but it’s clear he’s finding a whole new way to make an impact. From producing matches like Megan Bayne vs. Emily Rose to still grinding it out in the ring for AEW and ROH, he’s proving that you don’t have to be in the main event to leave your mark. The question now is whether this quiet backstage role could be the start of an even bigger chapter for one of AEW’s day-one names.
