Britt Baker’s future in AEW is a hot topic of discussion, especially after reports stated that she’s actively trying to leave the company. While there’s no indication that will happen, it appears AEW has no intention of letting her go right now.
In an update from BodySlam.net, AEW has no plans to let Britt Baker out of her contract. Internally, they don’t want upcoming WWE shows in Pittsburgh to be announced and feel it’s best to wait until the Evolution event ends before letting things move forward.
“As things currently stand, AEW isn’t looking to release Baker from her contract. The internal belief is they don’t want any upcoming WWE Pittsburgh shows to be announced — as well as Evolution to pass — before letting anything move forward.”
This comes after we have previously reported that Britt Baker is actively seeking to part ways with AEW. However, as noted above, that might not really happen as Britt Baker is still under AEW contract after signing a five-year contract in 2021, so she’s still with the company till 2026 unless AEW decides to let her go in the future.
Britt Baker has remained absent from AEW television since the November 13, 2024 edition of AEW Dynamite where she cut a promo on Serena Deeb. Most recently, the Doctor got fans talking as she told Sammy Guevara she hoped to see him again soon during an Animeverse appearance, saying, “Good to see you, we’ll hopefully see you soon.”
We will have to wait and see what will become of Britt Baker in the end. After all, WWE would actually sign Baker in a heartbeat if she were available and fans feel that might just happen.
