The AEW Double or Nothing main event didn’t just deliver in the ring—it sparked major internal debate behind the scenes.
The Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament final between “Hangman” Adam Page and Will Ospreay closed the May 26 pay-per-view with Page securing the win, but that outcome wasn’t always locked in.
According to a report from PWInsider.com, AEW officials went back and forth all weekend about who should walk away with the victory. The decision apparently wasn’t finalized until just hours before showtime.
“There was a lot of back and forth over whether Hangman Page or Will Ospreay should emerge victorious,” the outlet reported.
In the end, AEW went with Hangman Page, giving him the opportunity to avenge last year’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament loss. The win now launches Page into a massive title match against Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at All In: Texas on July 12.
That main event in Arlington is already looking like a war, with Page bringing momentum into what could be the biggest match of his AEW career.
