AEW’s currently on a hot streak when it comes to their weekly television shows and they are managing to move tickets better. With that in mind, it appears that AEW is actually marketing lower ticket prices in an attempt to sell more tickets for their shows.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW is now advertising ticket prices in its show promos as “starting at only $20.” This tactic was commonly used by WWE before they became hot, even though finding tickets at that price was usually hard.

Meltzer added that AEW is currently pushing this deal for their upcoming show in Chicago for AEW Dynamite: Beach Break. Despite the city being one of wrestling’s strongest markets and featuring a big main event with Jon Moxley vs. Samoa Joe for the AEW World Title, advance ticket sales haven’t been any stronger than in other markets.

This comes after AEW is still struggling to sell tickets for their upcoming All In: Texas pay-per-view, which will take place in July. Therefore, it’s clear AEW is trying to do whatever it takes to fill up seats for all their events now.

The pricing strategy might be working out for the time being but there is no guarantee it will work out in the long run, since what really matters is how long they can keep putting out a solid product. Therefore, we’ll have to see if AEW will continue to sell more and more tickets in the coming months.
