AEW is making its Australian debut with AEW Grand Slam: Australia this year, but it’s already facing a scheduling conflict with TNT’s All-Star Saturday Night, a prime-time NBA event. Because of this, the start time for AEW Grand Slam will likely be pushed back.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the current plans for AEW Grand Slam: Australia are for it to air following NBA All-Star Saturday on TNT. This means the show will be broadcast around 2:30 AM ET, resulting in a roughly 21-hour tape delay. This scheduling choice allows for the AEW event to be aired after the NBA All-Star Saturday coverage concludes.

AEW Grand Slam: Australia will be airing on TNT and streaming for free on MAX on Saturday, February 15 and will also be replacing that week’s edition of AEW Collision. It kicks off at 5:30 PM local time inside the Brisbane Entertainment Centre and there is definitely excitement for the show, but AEW’s choice to make it a TV special instead of a pay-per-view has also confused fans.

Fans are eagerly waiting for the match between Toni Storm and AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May, which is a rematch from All In: London 2024. However, despite the excitement surrounding the event, AEW’s workaround for the scheduling conflict with TNT’s All-Star Saturday Night has left some fans disappointed.

While the decision to push back the event’s start time may be the best option given the circumstances, the handling of the situation has led to frustration among AEW’s fanbase, who had hoped for a smoother experience.
