AEW WrestleDream 2025 should’ve been a memorable night for fans tuning in from home—but for many who used Amazon Prime Video, the show turned into a frustrating mess. Now, Amazon is finally trying to clean things up.
Held on October 18 at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri, AEW’s WrestleDream featured major moments, including Sting’s shocking return during the main event. But for those watching on Amazon Prime, the final bout wasn’t the showstopper they expected. Instead, viewers were met with black screens, sudden cut-offs, and broken streams.
Fans took to social media quickly. One viewer wrote on X, “I ordered AEW’s WrestleDream through Amazon Prime and all I’m seeing is a blank screen during the main event.” Another added, “Amazon Prime cut Wrestledream mid match during the main event. $50 and didn’t even get to see it all.”
Some were even more fired up over the situation, especially when they found out HBO Max viewers didn’t face the same issue. One angry post read:
“Really disappointed that @PrimeVideo cut out completely during #Wrestledream tonight. So hbomax subscribers got to watch the biggest match of the night but prime subscribers got screwed. Such bullsht.”*
With the backlash growing, Amazon has now responded. In an email sent to affected customers, the company acknowledged the widespread issues and confirmed full refunds were being issued. The message began with an apology for the disruption:
“We understand that you recently had issues watching the AEW Wrestle Dream Pay-Per-View event through Prime Video. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced throughout the evening and want to make things right.”
Amazon went on to state that refunds are already being processed:
“We have applied a full refund for the event to your account, which will be applied back to the original payment method in 5-7 business days. If you previously requested a refund, your refund has already been processed.”
They even offered a direct link for users to track the refund: Amazon Transactions Page
“We place a high value on our relationships with customers and recognize you have multiple options when choosing your PPV provider. We thank you for purchasing through Prime Video.”
The refund offer is a relief to fans who paid $50 for the show and didn’t get to see its most critical moment. Still, the damage may already be done for some AEW fans considering future PPV purchases on Prime.
