AEW just took a tough hit to its roster, as two wrestlers are now expected to be out of action for a while due to injuries.
During AEW Collision, it was announced that both Kyle Fletcher and Marq Quen would be sidelined, with Fletcher’s injury specifically confirmed on the broadcast. Since then, more details have surfaced about Quen’s situation, and the news isn’t encouraging.
Quen’s absence has now been confirmed as injury-related, and early indications suggest the damage could be serious. The timing makes things even worse, as Private Party had only recently made their return after being gone for more than a year.
According to sources familiar with the situation, Quen is believed to have suffered a tear of some kind, and there is concern that he could miss a significant amount of time.
The injury to Fletcher is also expected to keep him out of action for a lengthy stretch. His condition was revealed during AEW programming, and further information has confirmed the situation may be more complicated than originally thought. Sources confirmed that Kyle Fletcher suffered a meniscus injury, and there are additional injuries involved that could extend the amount of time he remains sidelined.
Losing two active performers at the same time creates challenges for any promotion, especially when one of the injuries impacts a returning tag team that had just started building momentum again. With Private Party only recently back on television, Quen’s injury brings that momentum to a sudden halt.
Injuries are always part of the business, but losing two names at once is never easy to recover from — especially when one return had just started gaining traction again. Now AEW will have to adjust quickly while both stars focus on getting healthy.
Do you think AEW can keep momentum going despite these injuries, or will these setbacks slow things down? Drop your thoughts in the comments and let us know.
