The June 18th edition of AEW Dynamite was the special Grand Slam Mexico edition of the show and it had tons of incredible moments. This included Mercedes Moné winning the CMLL Women’s Title, which made fans happy. In fact, it appears the show actually beat NXT in ratings this week.

According to Dave Meltzer, AEW Dynamite drew 736,000 viewers on TBS, a major increase from the 597,000 who tuned in on June 11. In the coveted P18–49 demographic, the show scored a 0.21 rating, up from last week’s 0.17 — making this one of AEW’s best-performing episodes in a long time. These figures account for the TBS cable broadcast only and do not include Max streaming or delayed viewing.

As for the June 17th edition of NXT, the show averaged 660,000 viewers. In the P18–49 demographic, NXT earned a 0.16 rating, so AEW Dynamite decisively beat NXT this week.

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw Mercedes Moné challenge Zeuxis for the CMLL World Women’s Championship. When all was said and done, Mercedes picked up the win and became the new champion, making it the sixth title she has in her possession now.

MJF also ripped off Mistico’s mask after a DQ loss, showing the ultimate disrespect to the Mexican legend. This and many other moments took place throughout the night that kept fans engaged.
