AEW is working hard to make the December 31 episode of Dynamite feel like a big event. The show is the New Year’s Smash special and will also deal with the fallout from Worlds End, so fans can expect a great show to end 2025.

Appearance by AEW World Champion MJF

MJF won the AEW World Championship for the second time at AEW Worlds End last week, beating Samoa Joe, Adam Page and Swerve Strickland. He’s now set to make an appearance on this week’s Dynamite, so it remains to be seen what the Salt of the Earth will have to say.

TBS Championship: Mercedes Moné vs. Willow Nightingale

After Willow Nightingale pinned Mercedes Moné at Worlds End, Moné had a meltdown backstage and demanded a singles match. So, AEW booked a match between them for Dynamite this week as the CEO of AEW will defend her TBS Championship against Willow Nightingale. So we’ll have to see who’ll win in the end.

AEW National Championship: Ricochet (c) vs. Jack Perry

Ricochet defends the AEW National Championship for the fourth time in under two months, this time against Jack Perry, who pinned him on Zero Hour. So, fans are excited to see who’ll come out on top in the bout.

AEW Continental Championship Eliminator: Jon Moxley vs. Josh Alexander

Jon Moxley beat Kazuchika Okada in the Continental Classic to become the new AEW Continental Champion, but he’s already set for a big match this week. Moxley will face Josh Alexander in an eliminator match, where Alexander can earn a title match by either defeating Moxley or lasting the full 20-minute time limit. So we will have to see if Moxley can make short work of Alexander.
