AEW Dynamite is locked in for March 19 in Omaha, Nebraska, but a massive blizzard could throw a wrench in the show’s plans. The severe storm is expected to bring heavy snow, gusty winds up to 60 mph, and hazardous travel conditions, making it difficult for both talent and fans to reach the arena safely.
According to KETV Nebraska, the storm is set to hit during the morning commute, transitioning from rain to snow with wind gusts reaching up to 60 mph. The impact is expected to last all day, disrupting both morning and evening travel. Schools in the area have already announced closures, signaling just how bad conditions could get.
“Rain is expected to transition to snow during the morning commute with wind gusts 40 to 50 miles per hour. Blizzard conditions are likely the rest of the day, with heavy, wet snow and wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour. Plan for travel impacts to both the morning and evening commutes,” reported KETV Nebraska.
This isn’t the first time AEW Dynamite has faced harsh weather conditions this year, but it’s still unclear if this blizzard will cause any major last-minute changes to the show. AEW President Tony Khan took to X to address the situation, assuring fans that all advertised wrestlers are already in Omaha and that Dynamite is still moving forward.
“It’s Wednesday, 3/19, final day of winter, there’s a blizzard in Omaha today! We have 3 huge #AEWDynamite fights set for tonight, all advertised wrestlers are in Omaha now! We have more to announce for tonight when the rest of the team arrives safely! Don’t miss Dynamite TONIGHT!”
While Khan remains confident that the show will go on, there’s still uncertainty surrounding other talent and crew who may be traveling in. So far, there has been no confirmation on whether Mercedes Mone and other key stars will be impacted by travel delays.
With AEW Dynamite set to take over Omaha, all eyes will be on the storm and its potential effects. Will AEW pull off the show as planned, or will the weather force major changes at the last second?
