AEW Dynamite Gets New Theme Song with Sum 41’s “You Wanted War”

AEW Dynamite just got a fresh sound, and it’s coming straight from Sum 41. The May 7th episode kicked off with the band’s track “You Wanted War” as the new intro theme for the show, marking a major shift in Dynamite’s presentation.

The song, which is off Sum 41’s album Heaven x Hell, is the latest attempt by AEW to find a signature anthem for their flagship show. Earlier this year, AEW briefly used “I’m So Excited” by The Pointer Sisters for the January 1st episode of Dynamite, but the theme didn’t stick.

Now, “You Wanted War” is taking center stage, and fans are already reacting to the intense new vibe it brings to the opening sequence. With AEW constantly evolving its look and feel, the move to a harder, edgier song could signal a new direction for the brand as they continue to ramp up their programming.
