AEW’s about to get a serious injection of star power, with MJF and Swerve Strickland both expected to return to television next month.
According to Self Made Pro during a recent Self Made session, the company has already locked in creative plans for both top-tier talents. While AEW has yet to officially confirm the news, Self Made Pro was clear about what’s coming:
“We’re going to get some big returns really soon. We’re going to get two major returns. By—let’s see here—by the end of the month, AEW is going to have two major stars back. We're talking about Swerve and MJF here.”
He went on to say that Tony Khan already has storylines lined up:
“They have the creative setup for those two guys for December. I expect them to be back by the time we’re in December. And again, we’ll see how they stagger those returns—that’s up to Tony, and that’s probably something he’s kept close to the vest in terms of who he’s bringing back and at what point.”
As for their physical status, both men are ready. Swerve Strickland recently underwent surgery, but he’s now cleared:
“Swerve is good to go, by the way.”
MJF, on the other hand, has wrapped filming for Violent Night 2. His last appearance was at AEW All Out, where he lost to Mark Briscoe—an outcome that shocked fans and left them speculating when he’d return.
AEW has been looking for that extra boost to round out the year, and bringing back two of its biggest names could be exactly what they need. With both Swerve and MJF having main event potential, all eyes will be on how Tony Khan chooses to reintroduce them to AEW’s weekly programming.
Do you think AEW will pull the trigger on their returns at the same show—or will they stagger them for maximum impact? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
