AEW just locked in a brand-new tag team name ahead of this weekend’s Full Gear pay-per-view—and it’s already got fans talking. Big Boom AJ and QT Marshall are officially going by “Boom & Doom,” and they’re set to hit the ring together during the Tailgate Brawl pre-show.

The match will see Boom & Doom take on the reunited duo of Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta, collectively known as RPG Vice. This bout marks a full-circle moment for Big Boom AJ, whose AEW debut was against QT Marshall at Full Gear 2024. Now, exactly one year later, they’re teaming up instead of squaring off.

Back in their original match, Marshall leaned into AJ’s flashy “boom” persona by flipping the script—sporting “doom” themed entrance gear to mock his opponent. But this time around, that “doom” branding is no longer part of the act—it’s part of the team.

AEW’s official match graphics for the pre-show list the duo under one name: Boom & Doom.

“The official AEW match card graphics list AJ and Marshall as ‘Boom & Doom,’ so that is their official team name heading into this match.”

This appearance will be just AJ’s fourth AEW match, and the team-up has already created some intrigue. Whether Boom & Doom becomes a full-time fixture in the tag division or fizzles out after Saturday remains to be seen.

Do you think Boom & Doom has what it takes to become a legit AEW tag team? Or is this a one-time nostalgia team-up? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
