Forbidden Door 2026 is officially happening, and AEW is once again teaming up with STARDOM for the crossover event.
Tony Khan confirmed the news during the pre-AEW Dynasty media call while discussing plans for more Joshi talent to appear across AEW programming. During that conversation, he revealed that AEW will continue working closely with STARDOM this summer, including another Forbidden Door event.
The announcement locks in the return of one of AEW’s biggest crossover shows, continuing the partnership between AEW and Japanese promotions that has been a major part of the company’s yearly calendar.
No official date or location has been announced yet, but the confirmation itself makes it clear that the event is part of AEW’s summer plans. That leaves plenty of room for speculation about which stars from STARDOM could be featured once the card starts taking shape.
Khan also used the media call to preview upcoming appearances from several Joshi stars across AEW and ROH programming. Yuka Sakazaki is set to compete in a Survival of the Fittest qualifying match, while Hikaru Shida is scheduled to team with Kris Statlander on the April 11 episode of AEW Collision.
Those announcements suggest that AEW is continuing to build momentum around its women’s division while strengthening ties with Japanese talent ahead of the summer crossover events.
Forbidden Door has become one of AEW’s signature events since its debut, and confirming its return signals that the company plans to keep expanding its international partnerships moving forward.
