AEW just knocked WWE off the throne at London’s O2 Arena—and they’ve got the numbers to back it up.
During the Forbidden Door 2025 pay-per-view, Tony Khan’s promotion officially broke WWE’s long-standing attendance record at the venue, pulling in over 18,000 fans in what’s now confirmed as the largest crowd ever for a pro wrestling event at the O2.
The previous record was held by WWE’s Money in the Bank 2023, which drew 17,617 fans. That number stood unchallenged for two years—until AEW came crashing through.
Since its 2019 launch, AEW has kept racking up historic milestones, from All In 2023 at Wembley Stadium to their growing footprint across major arenas worldwide. But this latest record hit especially hard, considering it happened in WWE’s backyard and at one of the UK’s most iconic venues.
This wasn’t just a victory lap for Forbidden Door—it was a statement. AEW’s consistent arena sellouts and global expansion are proving they’re not just an alternative—they’re serious competition. For years, WWE has dominated the UK wrestling scene, but this turnout shows the tide might be turning.
AEW’s fanbase continues to show up in massive numbers, and this O2 milestone just added another bold line to their resume.
