AEW is closing out 2025 with a championship clash that fans have never seen before.
Just before Worlds End Zero Hour wrapped, the company confirmed that Ricochet will defend the AEW National Championship against Jungle Jack Perry on the final Dynamite of the year.
The match was set in motion during Zero Hour, when Perry laid down the challenge following JetSpeed and Jurassic Express’ victory over Josh Alexander and The Demand. With momentum on his side, Perry called his shot—and AEW wasted no time making it official.
This bout marks the first-ever singles match between Ricochet and Perry, and it’s set to take place on December 31, 2025, at AEW New Year’s Smash Dynamite, live from the Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Omaha, Nebraska.
Ricochet will be looking for payback, as he was on the losing end of the multi-man tag earlier in the night. But with the National Championship on the line, both men have everything to prove.
Also announced for the December 31 show is Mercedes Moné defending her TBS Championship against Willow Nightingale, setting the stage for a high-stakes end to AEW’s year.
