The past few days have been a very dark time for WWE fans as the company has released R-Truth, Carlito and most recently, Sarah Logan. However, it now appears that there might be more releases coming.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez stated that he was told more WWE releases could be coming and that Valhalla’s release might not be the last. He mentioned that he doesn’t want anyone to lose their job and doesn’t like seeing people get cut.
Alvarez pointed out that The Miz hasn’t been doing much lately and noted how a recent segment on SmackDown featured a teased breakup between Miz and Carmelo Hayes, right around the time WWE released R-Truth, Carlito, and Sarah Logan. He once again noted that he was told there are others.
“I’ve been told that there might be others as well, so this might not be the end with Valhalla being released. I don’t want anyone to get cut, alright? I don’t like people losing their jobs, and I know people are gonna make more of this than it is, but Miz has not been doing much lately.
On Friday, they did a segment — he had just gotten together with Carmelo Hayes as a tag team, and they were teasing a breakup. Carmelo was like, ‘I don’t need your help,’ etc. This was right when they cut Truth, Carlito, and now Sarah Logan, and I’ve been told there are others.”
Alvarez also noticed that Miz removed anything related to WWE from his Twitter bio. It used to say “The Most Must-See WWE Superstar,” but now it only says “The Most Must-Read Twitter Account of All Time.”
Alvarez said he was told that Miz is working on the new season of American Gladiators, and while people might be skeptical WWE would release him now, the fact that he erased WWE references on social media could mean something. Alvarez suggested it would be weird for someone to do that unless a release was coming, especially during a wave of cuts, and said that where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire.
“I bring up Miz not just because of that angle, but if you go to his Twitter, there are no mentions of WWE. I think it used to say something like ‘The Most Must-See WWE Superstar,’ but now it just says ‘The Most Must-Read Twitter Account of All Time,’ and that’s it.
I was told he’s doing the new season of American Gladiators, and I know people are skeptical they’d get rid of him now, but he did remove references to WWE from his social media. I think it would be a weird move to do that if you’re not being released, especially when a bunch of other people are getting released. So yeah, where there’s smoke, there’s fire.”
This comes after Fightful Select reported that despite speculation about The Miz’s future, especially after fans noticed he had unfollowed WWE, there’s been no indication that he’s been told his contract won’t be renewed. Therefore, we will have to wait and see who will end up leaving WWE in the future, as fans still feel worried about The Miz’s future right now.
