Drew McIntyre’s move to WWE SmackDown was supposed to be a fresh start, but RAW General Manager Adam Pearce isn’t letting him walk away without a parting shot.

On February 8, just one day after McIntyre was officially welcomed to the blue brand by SmackDown GM Nick Aldis, Pearce took to Twitter to mock the former WWE Champion, throwing shade at his attitude and behavior behind the scenes.

“Typical @DMcIntyreWWE, flapping lips and storming out the door. He’ll be fun for a few Fridays, those same lips firmly flush on Aldis…until he doesn’t get his way or gets in his own way, both of which are also typical. Claymore? Nah. Cry more.”

The timing of Pearce’s tweet isn’t random—it comes just days after reports surfaced that McIntyre was furious over how his Royal Rumble elimination was handled. According to multiple sources, McIntyre was so upset about a timing mishap that he stormed out of the building before the match had even ended. While WWE quickly pivoted by moving him to SmackDown and inserting him into an Elimination Chamber qualifying match, Pearce clearly isn’t buying this as a fresh start.

The dig about McIntyre “getting in his own way” could also be a shot at Drew’s reputation for being vocal backstage. Over the years, McIntyre has been one of WWE’s most outspoken stars when it comes to his storylines and character direction, sometimes clashing with creative over his booking.

Meanwhile, McIntyre has yet to respond, but knowing his track record, he’s not likely to ignore this one for long. With WrestleMania 41 just around the corner, don’t be surprised if this war of words turns into something more.
