Adam Cole has been part of the AEW family since 2021 but he also made a name for himself in New Japan Pro Wrestling, facing quite a few top names. In fact, it appears he is interested in returning to the promotion again in the future.

While speaking in a recent interview with Bleacher Report, Adam Cole revealed his desire to return to New Japan. He enjoyed wrestling there and was excited to compete at Wrestle Kingdom.

However, just as he started wrestling in Japan more often, he signed with WWE and couldn’t continue. Now that he is in AEW, Cole made it clear that returning to NJPW is a top goal for him.

“The one for sure that I think I would love to do is I definitely want to go back to New Japan. I got the chance to wrestle there a few times and I got to do a Wrestle Kingdom show, which was amazing. But then right as I started going to Japan more often is when I left [for WWE], so I was not able to continue going to Japan. So now that I’m back in All Elite Wrestling, the idea of being able to go over and wrestle for New Japan again is very high up on my list.”

Before joining WWE in 2017, Adam Cole was working regularly with New Japan Pro Wrestling and even defended his ROH World Championship against Kyle O’Reilly at Wrestle Kingdom 11.

If Adam Cole does make his NJPW return, it could open the door for exciting matches against top stars like Gabe Kidd, Yota Tsuji and others, so we will have to wait and see when it will happen.
