Former ROH World Television Champion Komander is gearing up for a return to the ring after being out of action since early June due to a knee injury. The luchador, known for his gravity-defying rope walks, will make his comeback in his hometown of Reynosa, Mexico on October 19.

The return was confirmed Sunday on X, with Komander scheduled to team with AEW’s Hologram in a tag match against The Beast Mortos & Halloween NG for a local Mexican indie promotion.

Komander’s injury occurred during a match on the Mexican independent circuit, and he hasn’t competed since appearing on the June 4 episode of AEW Collision, where he teamed with JetSpeed. Shortly after, AEW wrote him off television in a backstage attack angle by The Hurt Syndicate.

Komander was also pulled from AEW’s Summer Blockbuster event and missed a key spot in the AEW x CMLL Fantastica Mania crossover show. He was originally set to team with Bandido and Hologram against Mistico, Neon, and Mascara Dorada.

At the time, the exact diagnosis wasn’t made public, but insiders believed the injury was serious.

“It was believed he suffered a significant knee injury,” one report noted, “but it’s still unknown what the severity or specific injury was.”

As for a return to AEW or Ring of Honor? That’s still unclear. Komander’s October 19 match is his first confirmed appearance, but whether he makes it back to U.S. television before that remains up in the air.

Fans of the high-flying luchador have waited months to see him return, and this October appearance could mark the first step toward something bigger.
