AEW star Abadon has officially confirmed her departure from the company in a raw and emotional post shared on May 30, 2025. This comes shortly after speculation emerged online about her contract status, with fans questioning whether the eerie fan favorite would remain with the company much longer.

A Twitter account recently claimed that AEW would allow the contracts of both Abadon and Nick Comoroto to expire, citing the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. In response, Abadon tweeted, “Man I can’t WAIT to make my own announcement,” signaling that fans shouldn’t trust reports unless they come directly from her.

Now, that announcement has arrived—and it’s as heartfelt as it is revealing. In a message posted to Twitter, Abadon confirmed that her contract expires in June and won’t be renewed. She didn’t hold back her emotions as she reflected on her time in AEW:

“The emotions I’m currently trying to manage are incredibly difficult and full of conflict as I reflect on my time there.”

Despite feeling heartbroken, Abadon made it clear that her journey in wrestling is far from over.

“My goal is to not let this be it for me, because I love wrestling too much to just stop. I’ve put in a lot of hard work that I will now be able to show case more often.”

She also made it known that her dedication to the ring remains unchanged.

“While my heart is currently broken you can bet that I’m still going to show up for training next week.”

Abadon hasn’t wrestled on AEW television since her TBS Championship match against Julia Hart at Worlds End in December 2023. Her most recent in-ring appearance was on the February 8, 2025 edition of Ring of Honor, where she faced Rachael Ellering.

Abadon first appeared on AEW programming in 2020, instantly grabbing attention with her horror-inspired gimmick and unique presentation. She made her AEW Dynamite debut in June 2020 with a shocking win over Anna Jay, which helped establish her as a legitimate threat in the women’s division. That performance quickly earned her a full-time contract with the company.

Throughout her AEW run, Abadon competed in several key matches, including a memorable No DQ bout against Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s World Championship in January 2021. Her character work, entrance, and commitment to the “Living Dead Girl” persona helped her stand out in a stacked roster, even though she was used sparingly on television in recent years.

Though injuries and creative direction limited her appearances, Abadon developed a strong cult following and remained a fan favorite for her commitment to the horror genre in wrestling. Her unique style carved out a space for alternative characters in mainstream wrestling, and her matches—particularly on AEW Dark and Ring of Honor—showcased her resilience and creativity in the ring.

The end of her AEW chapter doesn’t mean the end of her story—Abadon is ready to unleash her next evolution.
