AAW has now spoken out after news broke that the Berwyn Eagles Club will stop hosting wrestling, and they confirmed they’ll be the promotion closing the building’s final chapter.

AAW addressed the situation directly and confirmed that their Crush & Destroy event on April 24, 2026 will be the last wrestling show ever held at the Berwyn Eagles Club in Berwyn, Illinois.

The venue has hosted wrestling for decades, including events from SHIMMER, SHINE, and AAW. The shutdown comes after a late-March incident at a Ruthless Pro Wrestling show where a fan allegedly tried to stab Krule. After the situation drew attention from town officials, it was decided that wrestling would no longer take place at the venue after April 24. AAW made it clear that their April 24 event will officially close the doors on wrestling at the building.

“Crush & Destroy on April 24th 2026 will be the FINAL EVENT at the Berwyn Eagles Club.”

The promotion also pointed out that their history with the venue goes all the way back to the beginning of AAW itself.

“It started with AAW in February of 2004 and it will end with AAW on April 24th. Tickets are limited as there will be an attendance cap due to town regulations.”

AAW acknowledged how important the venue has been to the wrestling scene and made it clear they plan to make the final show count.

“There are thousands of memories within the walls of this venue and it has had such a powerful influence on what you see on tv today. We hope to have you all join us for a final one on 4/24.”

Even with the situation forcing the shutdown, AAW promised fans one last strong sendoff before the venue closes to wrestling for good.

“Everyone at AAW is saddened by this turn of events but we will deliver a last incredible show in Berwyn only as AAW can! Let’s have a great time together!”

AAW stepping forward to address the situation adds another layer to the fallout from the incident, and now all eyes are on April 24 as the final wrestling event at the historic venue.

Do you think AAW running the final show is the right way to close out the Berwyn Eagles Club, or should another tribute event be added before the doors shut? Let us know your thoughts and leave your feedback below.
