Things are spiraling fast for Alberto El Patron in AAA, and now his career with the company is on the line.

During AAA’s Alianzas event on Wednesday, July 16 at Arena Potosi in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, the show was initially billed as a tribute to El Patron and his father, lucha libre legend Dos Caras. But instead of a celebration, Patron was publicly kicked out of the El Ojo faction in front of the crowd.

To make matters worse, AAA dropped a major stipulation: if Patron loses to his former teammate El Mesías at the next Alianzas event on Friday, July 25, he’ll be forced to leave the company entirely. The drama has gone from backstage tension to full-on career jeopardy in a matter of days.

Patron’s final match as part of El Ojo happened just days earlier on July 11, when he and El Mesías teamed up to defeat El Hijo De Vikingo and King Vikingo. That pairing now looks like the calm before the storm.

The new lineup for El Ojo includes El Mesías, Sanson, Forastero, Mecha Wolf, Dorian Roldán, Hijo del Tirantes, and Konnan—meaning Patron’s enemies now include both former allies and power players behind the scenes.

Also set for AAA’s July 25 show is a singles match between El Grande Americano and Octagón Jr., but all eyes will be on whether Patron can survive his do-or-die showdown.
