AAA on FOX Results (1/17/26): Live Match Updates and Highlights

The show opened with a fired-up crowd outside the arena chanting for AAA.

Inside, the building erupted in “Booyaka” chants as Rey Mysterio Jr. made his entrance to kick things off. He spoke to the crowd in Spanish.

"You're going to make me cry, damn it. Good evening, Mexico—how are you? It's truly a pleasure to be here with you tonight. This arena brings back so many memories. But being here now, to welcome all of you to the new era of Lucha Libre AAA on Fox, is something special. Let me tell you—more than 30 years ago, a 17-year-old kid with a dream of becoming a wrestler walked into this very same company…"

The fans ate this promo up. After his promo, Rey joined Corey Graves and JBL on commentary.

Niño Hamburguesa, La Parka & Mr. Iguana vs. Abismo Negro, Taurus & Histeria

Hamburguesa and Taurus started the match, trading heavy chops. Hamburguesa picked up momentum, sending Taurus out of the ring and tagging in Negro. Iguana tossed a cheeseburger to Hamburguesa, who followed with a cannonball in the corner.

Histeria entered and dropped Hamburguesa with a heel kick. Taurus returned for a double team, and Negro came off the top rope with a dropkick. Taurus and Histeria put Hamburguesa on the top rope, but he fought back and hit a double splash.

La Parka tagged in and cleared the ring, then planted Taurus with a facebuster. He followed with a stalling suplex, but Los Vipers (Histeria and Negro) broke up the pin attempt.

guana tagged in and sent Negro to the outside, then leapt off the top rope to take him out. Hamburguesa followed with a suicide dive, wiping out both Vipers. Back in the ring, Iguana hit a spinning slam on Taurus and scored the pinfall, 1-2-3.

Winner: Iguana, Hamburguesa & La Parka

After the match, they celebrated with a dance.

Reina de Reinas Showcase: Flammer vs. Lady Shani

Reina de Reinas translates to “Queen of Queens,” making Flammer the top women’s champion in AAA. Lady Shani is a former two-time champion.

The two got in each other’s faces before the bell, and Flammer opened with a headscissors off the top. Shani fired back, with both women trading quick pin attempts and near falls.

La Toxicas supported Flammer from ringside as the match turned physical. Flammer landed chops, a corner splash, and mocked Shani before eating a backstabber in response. They continued trading roll-ups with Shani briefly gaining the advantage.

Outside interference caused chaos. Ledra jumped on the apron, bringing out Lola Vice to chase her off. Maravia tried to grab Shani’s ankle, but the distraction proved costly. Flammer capitalized with a dropkick and scored the pin.

Winner: Flammer

After El Hijo del Vikingo spoke about his frustration that fans seem to favor El Grande Americano over him, El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. — the AAA Latin American Champion — made his way to the ring and addressed the crowd.

He issued a challenge, according to Rey Mysterio. Moments later, a man in a mysterious purple mask appeared behind him in the ring. They shook hands, and the masked man leaned in to whisper something in Wagner’s ear before suddenly dropping him to the mat.

The mystery didn’t last long. The attacker removed his mask to reveal Santos Escobar.

After the break, AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio was shown driving in his car, talking about how AAA is bigger than ever. He claimed there’s only one reason for that: Dirty Dom.

Dominik said he’s the greatest luchador of all time, calling himself the King of the Luchadores, and promised he’s not giving that spot up.

#1 Contenders Match for AAA Mega Championship: El Grande Americano vs. El Hijo del Vikingo

Both luchadores received big ovations during their entrances, with Vikingo even wearing an oversized coat. Despite time running short, both competitors still got full entrances.

They locked up at the bell, with Americano quickly targeting Vikingo’s arm. Vikingo fought back with strikes, an enzuigiri, and a dropkick for an early two count. Americano responded with power offense, including chops, a lariat, and repeated corner strikes.

Vikingo turned the momentum again by attacking Americano’s neck and using aggressive corner offense. Americano came back with a suplex and began tossing Vikingo around the ring. Outside, Vikingo gained the advantage by sending Americano into the steps and barricade before landing a 450 splash, but only got two.

Americano fired up and hit several big moves, including a second-rope clothesline and a modified camel clutch. Interference from Dorian broke the hold. Americano teased using a metal plate hidden in his tights, but tossed it aside and went back to the submission. Vikingo escaped and the two traded near falls.

Americano tried for a superplex, but Dorian grabbed Vikingo’s ankle and was ejected. Americano then went outside to retrieve the metal plate — but was stopped when a giant boot stepped on his hand. The camera revealed Omos.

Vikingo capitalized, threw Americano back in the ring, and hit a 630 splash to score the pinfall and become the #1 contender.

Winner: El Hijo del Vikingo

After the match, Vikingo and Omos stood tall in the ring until Americano leveled Vikingo with a running headbutt. He tried the same against Omos, but the giant barely moved.

Rey Mysterio then ran down to the ring with a kendo stick and confronted Omos. Dorian quickly stepped in and convinced Rey to leave the ring with Vikingo.

That left Rey and Americano standing in the ring as Omos, Vikingo, and Dorian exited together as the show went off the air.
