The global tension surrounding WWE’s Night of Champions has been impossible to ignore—unless you were watching Monday Night RAW.
During the June 23, 2025 episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer revealed that WWE was strictly not allowed to mention the escalating Israel-Iran conflict or any related travel concerns during RAW, despite the company heading straight into a major event in the region.
While breaking down the RAW broadcast, Alvarez pointed out how bizarre it was to see WWE operate as if the real-world situation didn’t exist.
“We gotta talk about this Raw show. This was the Raw go-home for Night of Champions and they didn’t mention anything about…”
Meltzer quickly jumped in with the reason why.
“No, they weren’t allowed. They weren’t allowed to. They just were not allowed to mention anything on that.”
The two agreed that WWE’s silence likely came from higher up to avoid triggering questions or concerns among fans or the media.
“That’s probably one of the reasons why they weren’t allowed to address it, was because I don’t think they wanted those questions being asked. As far as everything, it’s potentially dangerous,” Meltzer added.
Although most of WWE’s production crew has already been on the ground in Saudi Arabia for over a week, five staff members remain stuck in Qatar due to airspace closures linked to the conflict. Despite that, WWE setup for Night of Champions is reportedly still moving forward.
Now, with President Trump’s ceasefire announcement, the event appears set to continue—but WWE’s complete silence on RAW hasn’t gone unnoticed by fans.
