Ethan Page is known for speaking his mind and is currently considered one of the top heels in WWE. However, some fans have been calling for him to turn babyface and now Page has addressed potentially becoming one in WWE.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Ethan Page was asked if he would ever turn heel again in WWE. He said it would take a lot for him to play a nice guy, especially to strangers. At this point in his career, with all the expectations fans have of him, he’s not sure being nice is something he wants to do.
“That’s an interesting question. It would take a lot in me to be nice to strangers. At this stage in my career, with the amount of things that I feel like fans expect from me, I don’t know if I would ever like to be nice.”
Page admitted that maybe he’d consider it for the right amount of money. While others might say it’s about something else, for him it’s always about the money. He mentioned that he can be a nice guy sometimes and knows he has that in him, but right now isn’t the time.
The NXT North American Champion feels like he’s in the best rhythm he’s ever had as a wrestler, both in the ring and on the mic. He’s enjoying what he’s doing and has no interest in changing anything at the moment, because he believes he’s onto something good.
“Maybe for the right amount of money. I mean, listen—people can lie to you and say other things, but it’s not. It’s always about the money, 100%. Look, I’m a nice dude sometimes, I definitely have it in me. But now is definitely not the time. I feel like I’m in the best groove I’ve ever been in as a wrestler—in and out of the ring, on the microphone, doing things like this. So no, I’m not trying to change anything right now. We’re onto something here.”
There’s no doubt that Ethan Page has really hit his stride as a heel in WWE. While anything is possible in the world of professional wrestling, it’s clear fans shouldn’t expect him to turn babyface anytime soon, if at all.
