Fans were surprised when former TNA World Champion Joe Hendry showed up as Randy Orton’s mystery opponent at WrestleMania 41. Orton quickly beat him, and that was the last time fans saw them in the ring together. With that in mind, Hendry has now left the door open for a future program with Orton.
While speaking to Kevin Kellam, Joe Hendry was asked if he wants to get that win back on Randy Orton and whether a rematch might happen. He said it’s hard to say, as anything can happen in the world of professional wrestling, especially in this current era.
Hendry pointed out that their paths might not lead to another match against each other but instead, there’s even a possibility they could end up as tag team partners. He believes that would be something fans would really enjoy seeing.
“It’s… it’s impossible to say. Anything can happen in the world of professional wrestling. Now we’re in an era where anything can happen. But hey, I mean, if you look at the paths of myself and Randy Orton… maybe we don’t face each other. Maybe me and him could tag one day. I think that would be something the fans would want to see.”
As reported earlier, WWE had already planned Joe Hendry’s surprise appearance at WrestleMania even before Kevin Owens announced his neck injury and it’s safe to say it was a big success.
We will have to wait and see whether Joe Hendry will end up getting a rematch with Randy Orton or instead team up with the Viper instead, as fans would love to see them work together again no matter what.
