Anyone hoping to see CM Punk fire back at John Cena tonight on Monday Night Raw is going to have to wait.

According to a report from PWInsiderElite.com, Punk is not written into the script for tonight’s show, meaning his response to Cena’s headline-making promo isn’t coming just yet.

The report cites creative sources within WWE who confirmed that Punk isn’t currently planned to appear on Raw. This news follows last week’s episode, where Cena delivered a pointed promo many compared to Punk’s iconic “pipebomb” moment, directly referencing their storied rivalry.

For now, it looks like Punk’s rebuttal will have to wait until SmackDown, which will be broadcast live from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this Friday.

In the meantime, tonight’s Raw remains a packed show. The final episode before Night of Champions will feature:

  • King of the Ring Semi-Finals: Cody Rhodes vs. Jey Uso
  • Queen of the Ring Semi-Finals: Jade Cargill vs. Roxanne Perez
  • Women’s Intercontinental Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Bayley
  • Bron Breakker vs. Penta
  • Goldberg appearance to address his upcoming match with GUNTHER
  • Seth Rollins appearance

While Raw has plenty of action in store, the brewing drama between Cena and Punk will be left simmering for a few more days.

Ringside News will be providing live play-by-play coverage of this week’s show over in our WWE Monday Night RAW coverage hub. It promises to be a memorable episode for many reasons, so it remains to be seen how the episode will turn out.
