Matt Cardona and Shotzi Blackheart have been arguing over who really deserves the “Indy God” nickname, and Cardona isn’t happy about her infringing on his trademarked name. In fact, Cardona has now stated that he plans to sue Shotzi Blackheart and even claimed he’ll take her house as part of it.
While speaking to Daniel Menna, Matt Cardona accused Shotzi Blackheart of stealing his gimmick and infringing on his trademarks. He said that she was using names like “Death Match King” and “Indie God,” which he says he owns the rights to.
Cardona also threatened legal action, saying he knows where she lives and even talked about taking her house and turning it into a toy room, especially since he’s building a house in the same neighborhood.
“That green-haired b****, she—she’s stealing, you know, she’s stealing my intellectual property. The Death Match King, the Indie God—like, I have that trademarked, you know? So she—like, if she wants me to sue her, I will. I know where she lives. I’ll take her house. I’ll take her house, I don’t care. I—you know—I’m building a new house in her neighborhood. I’ll have two houses. Maybe I’ll turn her house into a toy room if she keeps it up.”
Cardona said when Shotzi was released, he felt bad for her. He wanted to help her out by adding her to his toy company’s lineup, Big Rubber Guys, so she could make some money. He thought her look, green hair and tattoos would be popular with fans. He didn’t really know her but figured it would help her and also help him make a profit.
However, he saw her using his names and trying to be part of the Garage Beer sponsorship he’s involved with. That made him angry, and he said she’s going too far by using things he sees as his own ideas and brand. He made it clear he doesn’t like it at all.
“And then I saw she’s trying to get involved with my Garage Beer sponsorship. So first, you know, when she got released, I felt bad for the girl. I’m like, you know what, let’s get her a payday, let’s add her to Big Rubber Guys—my toy company’s new toy line. Let’s get her a little payday. I thought we were cool. I don’t really know her, but I’m like, she’s toyetic—green hair, the tattoos, you know, people will buy her. I just wanted to throw her a bone. And then of course, make some money off her too.
And then she starts using my Indie God name, my Death Match King name, and the Garage Beer sponsorship—like she’s really infringing on my intellectual property. And I don’t like it one bit.”
This comes after Shotzi Blackheart already tore up legal papers served to her by Cardona. Matt Cardona and Shotzi Blackheart are scheduled to face off on July 11th at a GCW event in Dallas. The match will decide who truly deserves to be called the “Indy God,” so fans will have to wait and see who comes out on top.
