Kota Ibushi is officially back in AEW. The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion made his surprise return on the June 21 episode of AEW Collision, coming to the aid of Kenny Omega and Mark Briscoe in their fight against the Don Callis Family.

Ibushi hit the ring with no hesitation, immediately targeting Josh Alexander and taking him down. From there, he squared up with Kazuchika Okada in a stiff striking exchange that teased a major confrontation between the two. The moment was fast, physical, and left the crowd fired up.

This marks Ibushi’s first AEW appearance since AEW All In 2023. Back in April, he revealed that his visa issues had been resolved, signaling that a return was on the horizon. Now, it’s official—and the timing couldn’t be bigger.

Kenny Omega is scheduled to face Okada at AEW All In in London to determine the first-ever AEW Unified Champion. With Ibushi now in the mix, the stakes just got even higher.
