Michelle McCool is a legend in her own right, which is why she was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. She’s also a student of the game and respects those who paved the way for her, which is why McCool has now revealed her Mount Rushmore of women’s wrestlers.
While speaking to WrestleStar, Michelle McCool was asked who she would put on her Mount Rushmore of women’s wrestling. At first, she wasn’t sure how to answer and joked that it was a hard question, saying, “Oh man… I don’t like this question. We can skip it—we can skip. I mean…”
After The Undertaker and the interviewer encouraged her to go ahead, McCool finally gave her picks, starting with Mae Young and Chyna. Then she added The Fabulous Moolah, saying, “I think you gotta put Mae [Young] on there. I think you gotta put Chyna on there. I’m gonna go Moolah also.”
The Undertaker asked why she was only picking older wrestlers. Michelle McCool said it’s because they helped open the doors for others. She ended her list with Sensational Sherri, saying Sherri also helped change the wrestling world.
“Well, I mean, that’s who paved the way! And I’m gonna continue to go—I’m just gonna keep it old school—so I’m gonna go Sensational Sherri. I think she changed the game too.”
Michelle McCool’s choices focus on older wrestlers, but they show how much she respects the women who helped pave the way for future generations. That’s why fans truly respect her Mount Rushmore and agree with her as well.
