WWE Hall of Famer Booker T loves training the next generation of pro wrestlers, since he takes his role as a teacher very seriously. That’s precisely why he is okay with wrestlers stealing his moves since he stole moves as well.
While speaking to Adrian Hernandez, Booker T said he’s always happy to help younger wrestlers. He mentioned that many up-and-coming wrestlers have asked him if they can use his signature moves like the scissor kick or sidekick.
Booker T revealed that he tells them to go ahead, especially if it helps them make money. He admitted that when he was coming up, he stole moves from other wrestlers as well.
Right now, Booker T is just happy to see young talent making their mark and says he has no problem with them using his stuff because he’s not a hater. Booker T just genuinely enjoys seeing what the new generation brings to the ring.
“If I could give these kids any little thing to help them out, um, I’m—I’m going to give it to them. I’ve had so many kids, you know, come up like, ‘You mind if I do the scissor kick? You mind if I do your sidekick?’ I’m like, ‘Man, if it can make you some money, you better do it!’ ‘Cause I stole everybody’s stuff—hey, I stole everybody’s moves when I was coming up, you know? So now, I’m no hater, man. I love seeing what these young guys are doing.”
Booker T is open to helping the new generation because he believes in building people up, not putting them down. That’s why fans truly respect him for letting other wrestlers use his moves instead of hating on them.
