The June 16 episode of Monday Night Raw was supposed to push forward one of WWE’s newest rivalries—but Liv Morgan’s dislocated shoulder has now turned everything upside down, and WWE’s creative team hasn’t even begun to sort through the mess.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE still hasn’t held the major creative meetings needed to restructure upcoming storylines—including one of the centerpiece matches planned for the Evolution 2 premium live event.
“That’s going to have to be changed [Evolution 2 match]. I mean, they could put, you know, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez against the Bellas, if they want to do that. I don’t know what they’re going to do, necessarily, about the Tag Team Titles. From what I was told, the key meetings have not been held yet as far as what to do. So, that’s where it stands right now. Obviously, changes are going to be made. The meetings, you know, are actually probably going to be tomorrow, but what I was told is the key stuff has not been discussed yet as far as what they’re going to do, but they’re going to, yeah, that was a key match on the show.”
Meltzer also previously confirmed that Nikki Bella was at Raw and scheduled to interfere in Liv Morgan’s match with Kairi Sane. But once Morgan went down mid-match with a legitimate injury, everything backstage scrambled. Nikki was pulled from the show despite being advertised for days, and a planned run-in was quietly scrapped.
Morgan, one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions, is now out for months and headed for shoulder surgery. That leaves WWE without one of their central female storylines—and no clear replacement plan yet as SummerSlam and Evolution 2 approach fast.
With WWE reportedly still holding off on final decisions, the pressure is on to figure out who steps into the spotlight next—and what happens to the Women’s Tag Team Titles.
WWE’s going to have to get creative fast. One injury just tore up months of planning—and now they’ve got to rebuild it before Evolution 2 even gets off the ground.
