Vince McMahon may be out of WWE, but he’s far from forgotten in the world he helped build. While rumors about McMahon buying TNA Wrestling continue to swirl online, the real update paints a more personal—and surprising—picture.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso, despite all the controversy surrounding McMahon in recent years, he still commands major respect from many within the wrestling business.
McMahon recently launched a new venture, 14TH & I, aiming to explore sports, media, and entertainment opportunities. And while he’s reportedly tried to buy into Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, his name still carries the most weight in pro wrestling circles.
“Speaking with wrestlers off-the-record, there is a great deal of support for McMahon, as many note that McMahon is still held in high regard.”
That kind of praise stands out, especially considering the fallout from the Janel Grant lawsuit and WWE’s very public separation from him. But among wrestlers—especially those who’ve worked closely with him—loyalty apparently runs deep.
Barrasso also pointed out that many insiders don’t see McMahon’s new company producing scripted content anytime soon.
“Those with inside knowledge are not sold on the idea that McMahon’s investment firm, 14TH & I, is going to suddenly develop television shows or movies, a process that generally takes years to materialize.”
Even with doors closed at WWE and major TV networks keeping their distance, Vince McMahon’s legacy still lives on in locker rooms across the industry. Whether that support leads to a new wrestling venture remains to be seen—but McMahon is clearly not forgotten by the people who knew him best.
