Shotzi is finally opening up about what went down after her WWE release—and the people who truly showed up when she needed them most.
During an interview with Denise Salcedo, Shotzi shared how Charlotte Flair was the first person to call her when the news broke, and how Bayley personally flew to Orlando to lift her spirits.
The former WWE star revealed that Charlotte didn’t hesitate to step in the second word got out.
“She [Charlotte Flair] was honestly the first person that called me—like when that news hit, she was the first person to call me. And she was like, ‘What do you need me to do? What connections can I pull? What do you want? Like, I will help you.’ She has just been such a rock for me—and I hope me for her as well, just because we were, you know, doing ACL rehab at the same time. And yeah, we were just there for each other. She’s been somebody that I’ve cried to during that whole process, and she’s just been so great.”
That kind of loyalty didn’t stop with Charlotte. Shotzi also opened up about Bayley’s behind-the-scenes leadership and how her actions helped her through one of the darkest moments of her life.
“Charlotte and Bayley—I look up to them in the ring but also outside of the ring as people. They’re just wonderful people.”
“She [Bayley] is not just a locker room leader—she’s a life leader. It doesn’t just end in the locker room. She will call you outside of WWE events. As soon as I got released, she flew over to Orlando and planned this awesome dinner for a lot of the girls that are in Orlando. She is all about her community. She’ll fly to Orlando just to hang out with her girls, and that’s wild to me because her schedule is already so crazy. But she takes the time to do that. I really look up to that.”
“I was just hiding myself from the world… and then I was watching Bayley just be this community leader. It inspired me to snap out of it, because community is important, and I needed to reach out to my community to help me get through dark times.”
Shotzi’s story is a reminder that the real relationships built behind the scenes in WWE sometimes run deeper than anything fans see on camera. Charlotte and Bayley weren’t just coworkers—they were lifelines when she needed them most.
