Nikki Bella was advertised to appear on the June 16, 2025 episode of WWE RAW, with WWE even pushing her return graphic and Bella herself hyping the show on Instagram. But fans in Green Bay were left confused when she never showed up—and now there’s reason to believe her absence was tied directly to Liv Morgan’s legitimate shoulder injury during the opening segment.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer dissected the situation, with Alvarez speculating that Nikki Bella was supposed to be involved in a segment with Liv Morgan—until the injury forced WWE to call an audible.
“Liv and Dom come out to open the show. And as we talked about yesterday, they advertised the return of Nikki Bella here on this show,” Alvarez noted.
Meltzer clarified that Nikki had technically appeared the week prior, but the wording and promotion still made it seem like her appearance would be part of this episode:
“Nikki Bella was advertised on the show and she was not there—because, you know, selling the injury thing from last week.”
That explanation didn’t fully add up to Alvarez, who pointed out Nikki’s public presence outside of WWE that same week:
“She did her podcast this week… nobody believes these injuries are real. But she was talking about the line from IYO SKY, the one everyone was criticizing, when IYO said ‘thank you for paving the way.’”
The conversation circled back to the RAW segment itself, with Alvarez doubling down on his theory:
“I think she was probably going to be involved in whatever they were doing with Liv, but since Liv got injured, the entire thing got scrapped. That’s my presumption.”
Meltzer seemed to agree:
“She could’ve at least done a promo. I think the whole segment changed due to Liv’s injury.”
Liv Morgan suffered a legitimate shoulder dislocation after taking a bad bump against Kairi Sane. The injury has since been confirmed as real by Ringside News and evaluated by WWE’s medical team backstage. Depending on the severity, her recovery could range from a few weeks to four months or more. She had reportedly been penciled in for a major angle with Nikki Bella heading into WWE Evolution.
With Liv sidelined and Nikki pulled at the last minute, it looks like WWE had to restructure its RAW script in real-time—leaving fans and commentators trying to piece together what could’ve been.
