Carlito isn’t holding a grudge after his WWE departure, but he is frustrated by the lack of closure. As someone who’s been around the business for decades, he understands not everyone can stay forever—but believes some exits deserve proper storytelling. For him, this wasn’t just about himself—it was also about those who had recently returned, like R-Truth.

Speaking to Busted Open Radio on June 16, 2025, the former Intercontinental Champion explained that while he accepted the end of his run, he hoped for a better sendoff—especially for fellow Judgment Day member R-Truth, who had just returned to TV when Carlito was being phased out. Carlito saw value in protecting the integrity of the stories they were telling.

“Honestly, I just, I felt worse for Truth. I mean, if it wasn’t a work, I, I felt worse for Truth. There’s some, there’s certain guys that I think they should have a, a proper send off. You know what I mean? Sure. I mean, everybody’s time comes, right? You can’t keep everybody forever, but at least some deserve a proper send off. And so I was, I was glad to see if things work out for him.”

“Like I said, I’m a professional. Just let me finish the Judgment Day angle properly. That’s all I would’ve asked.”

Carlito said he didn’t expect to be a top guy, but he did expect basic respect. Instead, his final WWE chapter ended without warning, and the Judgment Day arc he contributed to just vanished overnight. As someone who had pride in being a reliable supporting character, the lack of narrative payoff felt like a disservice to everyone involved—including the audience.
