Carlito isn’t shocked that he’s no longer with WWE—but he is disappointed with how it ended.
The veteran star, who had been featured regularly on television as part of Judgment Day, revealed that WWE simply let his contract expire without giving him a heads-up. For a performer who had become a staple on weekly programming, the lack of closure came as a letdown.
During his June 16, 2025 appearance on Busted Open Radio, Carlito confirmed that his two-year WWE contract ended without formal notice from the company—despite him appearing on TV almost every week. He expressed that while he saw the writing on the wall, the company’s silence was what frustrated him the most.
“I wasn’t too surprised or too shocked, you know what I mean? I signed for two years and it actually went better than I, than I thought it would go. The only thing is like, you know, the only thing is I’m a professional, you know what I mean? They could have told me and I would, you know, OK, then at least let me finish up the story for the Judgment Day so they can keep on going. You know what I mean? It’s, you know, I don’t know why do something where it, it, you know, to, I think it’s a disrespect to the fans that, you know what I mean, that they something that just dropped the storylines.”
Carlito had been working the Judgment Day storyline weekly, becoming a regular fixture again after years away. Still, his departure was handled quietly, leaving both fans and fellow wrestlers blindsided. He felt it was a mistake for WWE to cut off a storyline so suddenly without allowing it to conclude.
Carlito’s sense of professionalism and loyalty to the storyline stood out as he emphasized the missed opportunity to provide a proper sendoff. Despite being a veteran with deep ties to the company, he wasn’t given the chance to wrap things up in front of the audience.
