Mark Briscoe isn’t staying quiet after what went down at AEW Summer Blockbuster.
In a promo shared on AEW’s social media, Briscoe laid into Kazuchika Okada for the brutal assault on Kenny Omega. The attack, which took place during Omega and Okada’s contract signing for AEW All In, left Omega stretchered out after Okada delivered a vicious top-rope elbow drop onto his injured abdomen.
Briscoe, clearly emotional, reminded fans that he recently teamed with Omega and considered him a friend. He didn’t hold back in calling out the IWGP legend.
“I had Kenny’s back. I thought Okada was better than that. In the name of fairness, I’m challenging him right here, right now—for Grand Slam Mexico. And I promise, I’m gonna cause that man pain.”
AEW President Tony Khan didn’t waste time, officially confirming the match shortly after the promo aired. Briscoe will now face Okada one-on-one at AEW Grand Slam Mexico on Wednesday, June 18, inside Arena Mexico.
The card is already stacked, and with Briscoe vs. Okada now locked in, this international show just got even more chaotic. The full lineup includes:
With emotions boiling over and Okada drawing more heat than ever, this match with Briscoe could turn into a full-on war.
