Natalya Reveals Shockingly Low Pay from Her First WWE Contract

Natalya has been part of the WWE family since 2007 and her journey has been nothing short of inspirational. In fact, the Queen of Harts has now revealed the shockingly low amount of money she’d make with her first WWE contract.

While speaking to the Toronto Sun, Natalya talked about her early days in WWE working with the Bella twins. Natalya revealed that back in 2007, she would wear outfits and Nikki and Brie Bella would tell her not to wear them. She didn’t understand at first, but they told her the clothes didn’t look good. They were so kind that they gave her their own clothes to wear instead.

“I would put on an outfit in 2007, and Nikki and Brie would look at me and go, ‘No, you’re not wearing that.’ And I’d be like, ‘Why? What’s wrong with it?’ And they were like, ‘Nattie, you’re not wearing that. It’s not cute. It’s not right.’ And they would literally take the clothes off their backs and give them to me and go, ‘Wear this. Take this.'”

When Natalya first signed with WWE, she didn’t have much money. Her contract paid $24,000 a year, and after taxes, it wasn’t enough to cover everything. She needed to buy wrestling gear and nice outfits, but she didn’t have the money for it. She said it felt like trying to look fancy while shopping on a Walmart budget.

The Bella Twins helped her a lot during her early days. They gave her a big suitcase full of their own clothes, including some of their favorite dresses. Natalya still has those clothes today because they meant a lot to her and helped her when she really needed it.

“They gave me a whole suitcase full of clothing when I first got signed because I didn’t have any money. I had this contract with WWE—I was only making $24,000 a year, and I still had to pay taxes. That’s not a lot to live off, especially as a girl who needs to buy wrestling gear and all the fancy stuff to look glamorous. But really, I was working with a Walmart budget.

The Bella Twins are so special to me because, like I said, they helped me become what I am today. When I first started, they gave me a suitcase full of clothing and said, ‘Take this. Wear this. This is one of our favorite dresses.’ I still have all the old clothes they gave me to this day. I’ve never thrown them out because it always meant so much to me.”

Natalya continues to make history in the business and she truly owes her success to all the help Nikki and Brie Bella gave her so many years ago. No matter what, she will always love the Bella twins and that’s never going to change.
