Looks like Tuesday nights just got a lot more crowded. The National Wrestling Alliance is stepping into the ring—directly opposite WWE NXT—with its new weekly streaming deal on The Roku Channel.
Starting July 29, NWA matches will stream for free every Tuesday at 8PM ET across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico—the exact same time slot as WWE’s developmental brand on The CW. That’s right—Billy Corgan’s NWA is gunning straight for WWE’s turf.
Founded in 1948, the NWA was once the most powerful name in pro wrestling. But after decades in the shadows, the promotion is finally swinging for the fences again. And this time, they’re doing it with a streaming partner that reaches millions of devices across North America.
Corgan, who bought the NWA in 2017, made it clear this isn’t just a nostalgia act—it’s about putting the league back where it belongs.
“When I purchased the National Wrestling Alliance in 2017, it was understood we were inheriting the history and legacy of the most storied brand in all combat sports, so to announce today we have now partnered with the number one TV streaming platform in North America is indeed a moment to be proud of,” he said. “I look forward to sharing new episodes of ‘NWA Powerrr’ with the incredible audience that Roku brings.”
Roku’s own sports division is expanding fast, and this NWA deal joins their growing lineup that already includes the NBA G-League, MLB Sunday Leadoff, and more. Joe Franzetta, Head of Sports at Roku Media, backed the deal with full confidence.
“We’re thrilled to call The Roku Channel the streaming home of the National Wrestling Alliance, and as Billy and his team continue to excite audiences, we look forward to tapping into the scale of our platform to bring this historic and storied promotion to millions of viewers.”
With NWA Powerrr and Ten Pounds of Gold already building a cult following, this new deal puts the promotion back in the national spotlight—right when WWE NXT is preparing to go even bigger on broadcast TV. The battle lines for Tuesday nights are officially drawn.
