Nixon Newell Addresses Potentially Joining AEW After WWE Exit

Nixon Newell was released by WWE in November 2024 and since then, she has been keeping herself busy as much as possible in the indies. Many people wonder if she’ll ever go to AEW and now Newell has addressed the same.

While speaking to Baby Basile, Nixon Newell was asked if she had any interest in joining AEW and if AEW had shown interest in her. She said that as far as she knows, AEW hasn’t reached out, but she would love to join the company. There are many wrestlers in AEW she wants to face, especially Toni Storm, who she has wrestled many times on the independent scene. She’d love to have a match with her again.

Nixon Newel said she’s very open to talking with AEW and hopes something can happen. Even though she hasn’t heard anything from them, she’s still really interested and thinks it would be a great fit for her.

“Um, not that I know of. I would love to go there. There’s so many people there that I want to wrestle. Like, I really want to tangle up with Toni again. I wrestled Toni for many years on the indies, so I’d like to revisit that.

There’s just a lot of women there that I would love to wrestle. So, I am more than willing for AEW to talk about some stuff. I’m interested. I’d love to go there.But as far as I know, I don’t think there’s any interest from them, which is a shame. But I would love to go there.”

Newell also said there are many wrestlers she wants to face in different companies. Her girlfriend used to wrestle often for Ring of Honor, and she’d love to have a big match against her there. Nixon grew up watching companies like Ring of Honor and TNA, and always dreamed of wrestling in those places, so they are still on her bucket list.

The former WWE Superstar finished by saying she’s open to offers and just wants the chance to prove herself. She believes in what she can do and just needs the opportunity to show everyone.

“Like, there’s so many people that I want to wrestle in multiple different companies. You know, my girlfriend wrestles for Ring of Honor quite frequently—or used to—so I’d love to be able to wrestle her in a high-stakes promotion.

But honestly, I really want to wrestle for Ring of Honor. Growing up as a wrestling fan, you see all these companies like TNA, Ring of Honor—you want to wrestle everywhere, in every way. So yeah, they’re on my bucket list. I’m completely open to offers, because I’ve got to check those goals off. I want to show people what I can do best—I just need the opportunity to prove it.”

This comes after Nixon Newell already called out WWE for making empty promises, among other things. Nonetheless, we’ll have to see if she will make her way to AEW, as fans feel she would be a great fit there.
