Vince McMahon officially resigned from WWE and TKO Holdings last year and lately, there’s been a lot of speculation that McMahon is trying to buy back WWE. While many believe McMahon doesn’t have the funds to make that happen, Jonathan Coachman has now shot down that belief.

While speaking on the Behind the Turnbuckle podcast, Jonathan Coachman once again stated that a source told him Vince McMahon is unhappy with how WWE is currently being run and is open to buying the company back if the chance comes up. He also pointed out that Shane McMahon recently said something very similar.

“I said that I talked to a source who said Vince was looking to invest in different things, that he’s not happy with the current product—and if it presented itself, he’d be open to buying back in. And what did Shane just say? The exact same thing.”

Jonathan Coachman said it’s absurd to think Vince McMahon couldn’t find the money to buy back WWE. He pointed out Vince McMahon’s strong ties to Saudi Arabia, a country with several sovereign wealth funds worth over $500 billion. Coachman believes Vince could easily secure $20 billion if he wanted to take back control of WWE and clear TKO’s debt.

“The idea that Vince couldn’t get the money to do it is absurd. He’s got ties to Saudi Arabia. They have several sovereign funds with over $500 billion in them. You don’t think he could get $20 billion to buy WWE back and wipe TKO’s debt clean? Come on.”

This comes after Shane McMahon was asked about the rumors of Vince McMahon trying to buy back WWE. He didn’t give a straight answer but didn’t deny it either. Shane McMahon said his father still owns a big part of TKO, so anything could happen. His response was unclear, but it made people think the idea is still possible.

“Well, you own a big part of TKO still, so you never know what’s going to happen there either. So, I’m not trying to be vague. I’m just saying anything can happen, of course.”

With Jonathan Coachman strongly backing the idea and Shane McMahon not ruling it out, the possibility of Vince McMahon returning as the owner of WWE is still up in the air. Whether he makes a move or not, it’s clear that fans will continue to speculate about this for the foreseeable future.
