Getting injured is common in pro wrestling, and AEW has seen its fair share of injuries over the years. Brian Cage is among those sidelined since he’s been out of action due to a torn quad but now it appears he’s hit another bump in the road as Cage underwent another surgery recently.
The Machine took to his Instagram and uploaded a video, revealing that just a few days after getting a knee replacement and eight weeks after having surgery to repair a torn quad tendon, he’s already back in the gym.
Cage said he’s been dealing with serious knee pain for years and planned to have surgery after AEW All In. But after tearing his quad, he decided to go all in and get both issues taken care of at once.
The Machine admitted that it wasn’t an easy choice, but he’s determined to come back stronger than ever as he told fans that it’s just an undeniable fact that he is actually a machine.
“4 days post knee replacement (8 weeks post quad tendon repair) and I’m already back in the gym @projectwellbeingllc
Love me, hate me, or somewhere in-between, you can’t deny I’m a f****** machine! I’ve been dealing with excessive knee pain for years and have been working through it with the intention of going under the knife after All In. With the unfortunate set back of tearing my quad, I figured F it, let’s just get em both done. Not an easy or fun choice, but I’m gonna come back ripping heads off. Especially if this is me right now after surgery.”
Due to Brian Cage’s injuries, he couldn’t compete at AEW Dynasty, where he and Lance Archer were originally scheduled to face The Hurt Syndicate. Regardless, it will be a long time until fans get to see Brian Cage back on AEW television again but we wish him a speedy recovery and hope he returns as soon as possible.
