Rebel has been off AEW television for nearly two years, and fans have been left wondering what exactly happened to the longtime on-screen ally of Britt Baker. While she hasn’t been part of AEW programming since the August 21, 2022 episode of AEW Dark, Rebel finally broke her silence—and it turns out her hiatus wasn’t just a break.

The AEW personality took to Instagram and revealed that she recently underwent surgery to remove a tumor. She posted a hospital bed photo and even used a classic movie line to address it with a bit of humor.

“It’s not a Tumah ~ Kindegarten Cop. Ok, it is, but it’s out now ☺️. Still healing from when I was hospitalized last May 2024.”

This comes after Rebel previously shared that she had been hospitalized back in May 2024 with a lung mass that doctors initially couldn’t identify. It was eventually diagnosed as pneumonia, but the complications didn’t end there. She noted in the new update that she’s still recovering from the medical scare and additional health issues that followed.

Although she hasn’t appeared on AEW programming in almost two years, Rebel remains under contract with the company. There’s currently no indication that she’s planning a return to TV anytime soon, but fans now have some clarity on her absence.

We’re wishing Rebel a full and strong recovery. She brought charisma, presence, and her own spark to AEW, and it’s clear she’s been through a serious health battle behind the scenes.
