Karrion Kross has officially signed a new deal—but it’s not with WWE.
With his WWE contract quietly winding down, the former NXT Champion took matters into his own hands and announced on June 6, 2025, that he’s signed with Audible for a brand-new audiobook project—his first venture outside wrestling during this uncertain chapter in his career.
Kross dropped the news directly on Twitter, confirming what fans have been speculating for weeks.
“To finally answer your questions… Yes, I signed a deal with Audible 💯 And my book will be narrated by me— as you requested,” he tweeted. “Thank you to all who continue to encourage & support me to keep pushing forward or try new things. This was very fun 👊🏼👊🏼 #BTS 📖👂 #LifeIsFighting Audiobook coming soon, Keep you posted!”
He attached a short video clip showing himself reading excerpts from the upcoming project, which appears to be a raw and personal dive into his life story.
This announcement comes while WWE continues to leave Kross in limbo. According to Fightful Select, he’s in the final months of his WWE contract and has yet to receive any outreach or communication from the company about a renewal.
“Karrion Kross is in his contract year, and there hasn’t been much progress,” the report stated. “At the start of June, Fightful inquired… Based on what we’ve heard, WWE has not yet approached Kross about a contract extension or renewal, and we haven’t heard if they’ve indicated interest in doing so.”
That silence is even more noticeable considering Kross recently spoke out about his frustrations with his contract situation being leaked. During an interview with Ariel Helwani, he expressed how much it rattled him.
“Whoever did it. That put me over the edge… I’m still pretty pissed about it… It really bothered me because it’s about privacy, you know what I mean? Who the hell was supposed to know about that?”
Despite WWE’s lack of urgency, Kross clearly isn’t waiting around for permission to chase his next chapter. The Audible project puts him in full control of his narrative—literally—and adds fuel to speculation that his future might lie outside of WWE entirely.
