Adam Copeland was last seen during the AEW Dynasty pay-per-view, where FTR brutally attacked Copeland, effectively writing him off television. While many fans have been wondering if Copeland will have a major match at All In: Texas, it appears the company may have delayed a huge plan for Copeland.

While speaking on The Hump, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about the status of a possible Adam Copeland and Christian Cage reunion, and whether it was delayed because All Out is happening in Toronto.

According to Sean Ross Sapp, people he talked to hinted that there were some issues involving the idea of turning Christian babyface and getting him out of the Patriarchy. Sapp noted that it seemed like Christian Cage wanted to continue that storyline a bit longer. Originally, AEW had planned for Copeland and Christian to face FTR at All In: Texas.

“People I talked to hinted to me there were some hiccups in relation to turning Christian babyface or getting him out of the Patriarchy. Seems like he wanted to do that for a little bit longer. They had planned for Cope and Christian against FTR at All In.”

This comes after Dave Meltzer previously reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Adam Copeland likely won’t return until July, as he said, “I don’t expect him back until July. So he will miss the next pay-per-view. I think he’ll be out for a while.”

AEW seems to be playing the long game with Adam Copeland and Christian Cage reuniting. Therefore, it remains to be seen when AEW chooses to bring Copeland and Cage back together as we get closer to All In: Texas on July 12th.
