WWE fans were already heated over R-Truth’s sudden departure—but what happened during the June 2 episode of Monday Night RAW only added more fuel to the fire.
During a Q&A session, WrestleVotes revealed that while it’s common for WWE stars to show subtle love to their injured or departing colleagues by wearing their merch, WWE drew the line at R-Truth. Despite Dominik Mysterio rocking a Carlito shirt on RAW, no one was allowed to rep R-Truth—even after his emotional goodbye.
“Yeah, so we’ve seen it in the past where guys get hurt, people move on, you see one of their shirts snuck in. That happened last night with Carlito — Dominik Mysterio had a Carlito shirt on TV. But they didn’t want any R-Truth shirts being worn by talent on Monday Night RAW.”
The decision didn’t sit well with fans, who already felt blindsided by R-Truth’s exit. During RAW, chants of “We want Truth” broke out from the crowd, and those same chants echoed again on the June 3 episode of NXT. Clearly, WWE’s loyal viewers aren’t ready to let go of the longtime fan favorite.
What’s worse? R-Truth’s popular Ron Cena t-shirt—one of WWE’s best-selling items—was quietly pulled from the shop, with no explanation. It’s a move that sent fans into a frenzy and raised even more questions about what’s really going on behind the scenes.
No official reason has been given for WWE’s sudden freeze on R-Truth merch or their refusal to let talent pay tribute to him. But silencing that support only makes the company look more tone-deaf as fans rally harder behind a man who’s been entertaining them for decades.
