Thunder Rosa is done staying quiet. After a long 17-month recovery from a serious back injury, the former AEW Women’s World Champion is finally addressing the rumors, doubts, and haters that followed her during her time away—and she’s doing it with fire.

Speaking to Rock 95 in a new interview, Thunder Rosa opened up about the mental and physical toll of being sidelined, how hard it was to vacate her championship, and what the road back really looked like. The comments came after the host brought up the cloud of skepticism that surrounded her absence, with some fans and voices in the wrestling world openly questioning the legitimacy of her injury. Thunder Rosa didn’t hold back.

“I am—this is the healthiest I’ve been in my career. Mentally, physically, and spiritually. For all of those who were doubting or questioning my injury or whatever, it’s proven that I was injured. It’s proven that I couldn’t defend that championship. You know, it tore my guts and my heart that I was not able to, you know, do things the right way. But you know… whatever happened, everything happens for a reason.”

She continued by reflecting on how the long recovery shaped her both personally and professionally.

“So those 17 months that I was away from the ring really taught me that I’m stronger than ever, that I can accomplish anything that I put my mind into. And also that I am super talented and super relentless and that I love what I do. And professional wrestling has given me everything in life—and nobody and nothing will take that away from me.”

And then came her final message—direct and defiant. “So haters—I’m still here.”

Thunder Rosa returned to the ring on the December 16, 2023 episode of AEW Collision, marking her comeback after being forced to relinquish her title due to injury. Now, with her health back and her passion undimmed, she’s ready to remind the world why she belongs in the center of the AEW spotlight.
